On your first 60 second freefall using solo equipment you will be accompanied by two specially trained instructors. They will be at your side to coach, assist, and evaluate your performance. While in freefall you will practice touching your ripcord, assess your altitude, and maintain a stable body position. When pull time comes and you pull your ripcord the instructors will separate from you to open their own parachutes. You will descend under our state of the art square parachutes to a safe gentle landing.
The Accelerated Freefall Training Program consists of two phases and twenty levels. On each jump you will receive approximately 1 hour of one-on-one ground training and debriefing. You are required to meet certain performance minimums prior to moving on to the next AFF level. The program is designed to make the completion of the performance mimimums a goal that can be easily reached. In Phase I of the program you will focus on basic skydiving skills. After your level 1, levels 2 and 3 introduce you to the concepts of forward motion, heading control and turning in freefall. Starting with Level 4, you graduate to just one instructor and focus your efforts and stability with heading maintenance, leg awareness and hover control. Levels 5 and 6 are designed to practice controlled turns in freefall and more advanced canopy control techniques. You will also be expected to learn about airplane spotting, canopy packing and equipment checks. The final two levels of phase one, levels 7 and 8 prepare you to organize a skydive on your own. You will be expected to show your proficiency in a number of areas including:
During phase II you will make several more skydives including solos and coached jumps. You will be required to show that you can properly and safely plan and execute a skydive with others from start to finish. Throughout the program students skills and knowledge are continuously tested to insure your safety. Additional advanced seminars of interest to students are held throughout the year. Even if you can't jump due to weather you can be working toward your A license by learning to pack, reviewing the Skydiver's Information Manual,or taking your written tests. The final jump in the program involves a thorough testing of all of the concepts introduced and a completion of a series of performance maneuvers. If you have completed all of your other ground work then successful completion of the test and maneuvers will result in your A license.
Our freefall curriculum has been modified and improved over the years to encourage the highest student performance levels on every jump.
